I spent months walking the streets with my camera, in no particular hurry, just watching - the way a chaiwala stirred lemongrass into his pot before the city had fully woken up, pouring cup after cup for strangers on their way to work. The way children chased each other through narrow lanes, completely unbothered by everything else. I was completely hooked. Not on photography exactly, but on observation. On being present enough to catch life as it actually is.
That appetite for watching people, really watching them, never went away. And when you love human connection as deeply as I do, wedding photography feels less like a career choice and more like an inevitability. There is nowhere else you'll find that density of genuine emotion in a single day. Generations in one room. Old friendships picking up mid-sentence.
I started VBA Studio because I wanted to document all of it, not just the polished moments, but the texture of the whole day. My approach is editorial in its craft, but it's always rooted in that same instinct I first found wandering the streets of India: slow down, pay attention and trust that the best moments will show themselves.

"Working with Abbi to capture our wedding day and subsequent honeymoon shoot was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. Not only is Abbi a talented photographer with the gift of making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera, she runs her business with the highest professional standards, which made the entire experience an absolute delight. We are obsessed with our photos and how Abbi was able to capture the genuine moments and emotions of the best day of our lives."
I shoot on 35mm and medium format film. Not as a style choice but as a philosophy. Film forces intention. It slows everything down and asks you to really look.
I work across the French Riviera, Provence, London and Dubai and wherever else the work takes me. My clients are couples who care about photography as much as I do. Who want PHOTOS that are art, not JUST documentation.
