Provence Sunflower Photoshoot in the Luberon
The Provence is famous for it’s fragrant purple lavender fields that bloom at the end of June and early July but the stunning sunflower fields are just as captivating! Last summer, Nina and Carl contacted me to organise an engagement photoshoot amongst the Provencal lavender but unfortunately they’d already been harvested. So, off we went to a gorgeous sunflower field in the Luberon close to Aix en Provence where they were based.
For the best photos, I recommend visiting the fields early in the morning for sunrise or at or sunset. You’ll have that soft, golden light for the most flattering photos. Plus you’ll avoid all the crowds! The best time of year for the sunflowers in France are from late June to mid-August. It all depends on the weather and area of course!
My favourite locations are close to Aix en Provence or the Luberon area which you can pair with a day of exploring classic French villages nestled between dramatic scenery such as Gordes, Lourmarin and Bonnieux. There are plenty of cobbled streets to wander down and, of course, endless fields of lavender and sunflowers.
